Breast Lift Plastic Surgery in Fort Worth
Breast Lift Surgery Overview
A breast lift erases problems caused by gravity, pregnancy, breast feeding, or weight gain and loss and does just what it says – lifts the breasts to a higher, more pert position.
Many women choose to have breast lift surgery after they are through having children and after breast-feeding and pregnancy has taken its toll on the breasts.
How to Diagnose Your Breast
You can determine whether or not you need a breast lift using this simple test: place a pencil under the fold of your breast; if your nipples fall below the pencil, then a breast lift is needed.

Your Personal Consultation in Our Fort Worth Plastic Surgery Office
Discuss with Dr. Faires your medical history in detail and what you want to achieve from breast lift surgery. In some cases, Dr. Faires may recommend breast augmentation to accompany the breast lift, in order to achieve the results you want.
Information About Breast Lift Plastic Surgery
The breast lift surgery itself involves an anchor-shaped incision in the lower half of the breast. Excess skin on the lower portion of the breast is removed. A circular incision is made in the upper portion of the skin. The nipple is detached from the skin, pulled up through the new hole, and sewn together. The rest of the skin is also shaped and stitched back together.
Limitations to the Breast Lift Procedure
There will be visible scars from the breast lift surgery; however, they will fade with time.
Recovery from Breast Lift Cosmetic Surgery
Following breast lift surgery, you will need to wear gauze and a surgical bra to protect the treated area. After a few days, the swelling and bruising will subside, and plastic surgeon Dr. Faires will give you a softer support bra to wear for a while for additional healing.
The nipples may be numb for a month and a half or longer, and in rare cases this condition may be permanent. Dr. Faires will ask you to avoid vigorous exercise for a month or so.
Breast Lift Results
Ultimately, your breasts will be perky and younger-looking after breast lift, although there will be visible scars. Should you decide to become pregnant following surgery, you should still be able to breast feed without problems. Generally, women are very satisfied with their new look following breast lift cosmetic surgery, especially if they go into surgery with realistic expectations.
